By Sophie Trist  A 3,000-page report from some of the world's leading climate scientists issues a "code red" for humanity, warning that if we don't drastically cut carbon emissions very soon, global temperatures will continue to rise at unprecedented rates, causing floods, wildfires, droughts, hurricanes, and other climate disasters which endanger human life. We can't be pro-life if we don't protect this planet upon which our lives depend. It's time for governments to stop just talking the talk and actually walk the walk when it comes to battling climate change. Protecting our environment, making sure that Earth is safe for ourselves and our children, is absolutely a life issue.

By Sophie Trist DFLA is deeply disappointed that the Department of Justice has dropped a lawsuit against the University of Vermont Medical Center, filed on behalf of a nurse who was forced to participate in an abortion despite moral objections.  The DOJ has essentially decided that conscience protections do not apply to pro-life Americans, who make up nearly 50% of the electorate. No one should ever be forced to participate in a medical procedure that they see as the violent killing of a fellow human being. This failure to protect the rights of pro-life Americans amounts to a betrayal of the fundamental democratic values of freedom, civil rights, and the longstanding protection of conscience...
